Tablescape-Thursday - Pumpkin Party / Das Kürbisfest

In Germany we don't celebrate Halloween that much. But, of course, we have pumpkins and this is surely a reason to celebrate fall season. Some days ago we invited friends and this was the tablescape for this day.  Ina's wonderful painting is so adorable in that room, especially at this time.

In Deutschland feiern wir Halloween nicht so sehr. Aber wir haben natürlich auch Kürbisse und das ist ein Grund, die Herbstsaison zu feiern. Vor ein paar Tagen hatten wir Freunde eingeladen und das war unser Tisch für diesen Tag. Inas wunderbares Gemälde schmückt den Raum, besonders zu dieser Zeit.

For the main course I set the table with my Italian plates from Deruta. The colors go so well with the colored fall foliage.

Für den Hauptgang deckte ich den Tisch mit meinem italienischen Geschirr aus Deruta. Die Farben passen so gut zu dem gefärbten Herbstlaub.

For the soup I used yellow soup bowls and topped this stack with a paper napkin in bright colors.

Für die Suppe deckte ich gelbe Suppenteller und dieser Stapel wurde gekrönt mit einer Serviette in kräftigen Farben.

I love the colors of nature at this time. Aren't they wonderful?

Ich liebe die Farben der Natur zu dieser Zeit. Sind sie nicht wundervoll?

The centerpiece is a hollowed pumpkin, which I used as a soup tureen, filled with creamy pumpkin soup. The leave shaped dishes hold rosted pumpkin seeds with bacon as topping for the soup.  

Das Herzstück der Tafel war ein ausgehöhlter Kürbis, den ich als Terrine für die Kürbiscremesuppe benutzte. Die beiden blattförmigen Schalen daneben enthielten gebratene Speckwürfelchen und Kürbiskerne, die man auf die Suppe streuen konnte.

Here you can see the pumpkin tureen in detail. It reminded me somehow of the carriage of Cinderella.

Hier seht ihr die Kürbisterrine nochmal näher. Die erinnerte mich sehr an die Kürbiskutsche von Cinderella.

And this is the biggest item I have got in my collection of rose flatware. Its a soup laddle with 32 cm/12,5" length.

Und das ist das größte Teil meiner Sammlung von Rosen-Bestecken. Es ist eine Suppenkelle mit 32 cm Länge.
