Since Donna made the nice blogpost "She sells sea shells..." I am inspired to the post for today.
I love sea shells and I have quite a collection.
Willkommen zur Teestunde am Dienstag.
Seit Donna den süßen Blogpost "She sells sea shells ... (Amerikanischer Zungenbrecher = Sie verkauft Muscheln....) gemacht hat, bin ich inspiriert für meinen heutigen Post.
Ich liebe Muschelschalen und habe eine ziemliche Sammlung.

And I love all the things which are made from mother of pearl. The neclace in front is one of my fav's and I like to collect this little shell boxes.
Und ich liebe alle Sachen, die aus Perlmutt gemacht werden. Die Kette im Vordergrund ist eine meiner Favoriten und ich mag auch die kleinen Muscheldöschen.

Humans are since ages fascinated by sea shells. No wonder that the silversmith also used that shape for sugar spoons.
Seit ewigen Zeiten sind die Menschen von den Muschelformen fasziniert. Kein Wunder, dass die Silberschmiede diese Form auch für ihre Zuckerlöffel benutzt haben.

But I prepared also something nice for you for today's tea-time. On this (Hawaiian ?) plate from MOP I serve a toast with Gravlox. The little fishes are from the same material as pretzel sticks. The flatware is from England with MOP-handles.
Aber ich habe dir auch etwas Leckeres für die Teestunde vorbereitet. Auf diesem (hawaianischen ?) Perlmutt-Teller ist ein Toast mit Frischkkäse und Graved Lachs. Die Goldfischli brauche ich euch ja nicht zu erklären. Das Besteck mit den Perlmuttgriffen kommt aus England.

What a fun and summery post! Those fish look like Pepperidge Farm Goldfish (a division of Campbell Soup, my husband worked for...) am I right? The Gravlax looks inviting on the mother of pearl plate and oh, the cutlery is so pretty! I do have some shell shaped rose silver flat ware but not quite the same as you show here.
Very smart way of presenting this the way you did. Over the ages, human beings have always used mother nature to draw their designs from.

Muscheln mochte ich eigentlich schon immer gern, aber seit meinen Pilgertouren habe ich eine besondere Beziehung dazu, denn die Jakobsmuschel ist ja das Pilgersymbol, und trage immer eine kleine Muschel an meiner Kette...

Wie Du schon gemerkt hast bin ich in der letzten Zeit nicht so viel unterwegs im Bloggerland (zum Leidwesen von Tiger die immer rummaunzt wenn ich in der Nähe des Pc's bin, nach dem Motto schmeiß die Kiste an ich will meinen Wiski sehen!!!!!!!)
Heute freue ich mich nicht nur über die zauberhafte Perlmutt Deko (wie Du liebe ich Perlmutt sehr!) sondern auch über die kleine Träumerei auf der Insel der Katzen wo Wiski uns hingeführt hat.
