Zum Tee bei Zarin Katharina I. / Tea with Tzarina Catharine I.

Nachdem wir das letzte Mal Tee im Weißen Haus genossen haben, führe ich euch heute nach Russland, genauer gesagt nach Puschkin, früher Zarskoje Selo. Dort steht im Katharinenpark der Katharinenpalast, ein Traum in Himmelblau und Gold. 

 Leider war ich nicht selbst da. Ich darf euch aber die Bilder zeigen, die mein Sohn von seiner Reise mitgebracht hat.

 Since we enjoyed the last time tea at the White House, I bring you today to Russia, specifically to Pushkin, former Tsarskoye Selo. There is in the Catherine Park Catherine Palace, a dream in sky-blue and gold.

  Alas, It was not me, who visited it. But I am allowed to show you the pictures my son brought back from his trip.

Der Katharinenpalast ist auch innen wunderschön. Die Räume sind groß und hell und mit viel Gold dekoriert. Manche auch klassizistisch, wie diese Halle.

 The Catherine Palace is beautiful inside. The rooms are large and bright and decorated with lots of gold. Some also in classical style, like this hall.

Und da ist schon die Zarin Katharina I., fertig angekleidet für den Nachmittagstee.

 And there is even the Tzarina Catherine I., ready dressed for afternoon tea.

Wie ihr seht, ist an diesem Tisch Platz für uns alle. Die Rosengirlanden haben mir besonders gefallen. Das Porzellan sieht in der Vergößerung aus wie ein Imari-Dekor. Tatsächlich hatten die Zaren ihre eigene Porzellanmanufaktur, die 1744 gegründete Kaiserliche Porzellanmanufaktur St. Petersburg, die 1917 in Lomonosov umgewandelt wurde. Im Vitrinenschrank kann man Serviceteile des bekannten Musters Kobaltnetz erkennen.

As you can see, space is at this table for all of us. I am so enthralled about the rose swags. The porcelain on the table looks in the magnification like a kind of Imari decoration. In fact, the Tsar had their own porcelain factory, the Imperial Porcelain Factory St. Petersburg, founded in 1744, changed the name in 1917 in Lomonosov. In the display case one can  discern pieces with the well known pattern cobalt net.

Lomonosov stelle ich heute nicht auf den Tisch, aber ich bin sicher, dieses Service hätte der Zarin auch gefallen.

I have no Lomonosov today on the table but I am sure the Tzarina would like this set too.
